Consumption and Production; Art & the Politics of Food

Lean Times is concerned with the cultural and artistic implications of how food is produced and consumed.Lean Times is programmed around three meals prepared and presented by participants to stimulate consideration of the politics and provenance of what we eat within the context of instability and fluctuations in food production; the need of food banks and the distance between growers and consumers. Presentations and events between meals prompt debate around the aesthetics of food and the social and technological implications of its production and representation.
